All About Sea Skye Boat Trips

SeaSkye Tours offers unforgettable boat trips on the Isle of Skye, taking you through the breathtaking area, also known as the Hebridean Sea. These exclusive tours, offering spectacular views and a chance to witness the rich wildlife of this iconic Scottish destination. Perfect for families, nature lovers, and groups, these boat trips promise an exciting and memorable journey across the stunning Hebridean Sea. Now departing from Portree due to weather limitations on the west coast.

Sea Skye Tours started back in 2017, by a different opertor. Since then the buisness was taken over by James and Matthew and changed slightly from operating as a high speed rib charter service in Carbost. Back then we used our vessel “DUBH MOR” to transit around the west coast of Skye. Exploring caves, wildlife scenery whilst being open to the elements. Sometimes this resulted in some colder days and due to that location we often had to cancel trips.

After taking a break from 2022 until 2024 where we went exploring, taking many boat trips along the way and realising we love what we do here at SeaSkye! However we would also like to offer more. With our new vessel “DAWN TIDE”, we can offer the same great trips for wildlife and showing the Isle of Skye from the best perspecive we always have but with more comfort, amenities and distance with the same great feeling of being out at sea in an open vessel. We will get back to operating a rib at some point though..

Sea Skye Tours is operator in a wild environment and we treat it with upmost respect. We have very fuel efficient engines that also allows for quiet running and ensuring that we are a WISe operator around wildlife. Although there’s lots of wildlife out there, sometimes we miss each other. Please remember that we are in a wild environment and can’t guarantee all of the wildlife mentioned on a single boat trip.

DAWN TIDE is a powerful vessel with top of the range equipment onboard, 600hp of power, high safety standards, great sea-keeping abilities and a large open deck for viewing all that the waters around the west coast of Skye has to offer.
